Double Release

On November 9 the Redhouse will host a performance in conjunction with the release of “Letters from the Sun,” my new cd.   That night I’ll also premier and release a new batch of songs available on vinyl only, “Concord on Vinyl: New River.”

Its going to be an all acoustic evening and the lineup of friends is impressive:  Bob Alexander, Rich Curry, Ted Curtis, Tom Fay,  Mark Gibson, Bill Harsma, Frank Hegyi,  Zeke Leonard,  Marcia Rutledge, Mick Walker, Curtis Waterman, and Jeffrey York.

I know it will be an outstanding evening of songs.   We have, I think, something to offer. I would love if it you came out to listen to us.

this wednesday, september 11

I am sitting in for the totally cool dave robertson at eve galleria 6456 collamer road,  East Syracuse, NY 13057.  It will be a completely unplugged open mic with interesting musicians and songwriters.  I will beat my cello within an inch of its life-I promise.

The Breath Inside Me

The Breath Inside Me

I don’t want to know this. I don’t want to pierce the veil

To find a dark more warming….. than the sun

That lies upon the water

I don’t want to dream your boat is sinking

When I sleep beside your little…. bird of tin

I just want to climb it up and fly away.

I just want the breath inside me hard and ragged

Want the breath inside me running wild

I don’t want to see this, don’t want a whaling star

To navigate the dark night…. of the soul

Through all this lonely water

I just want to drift it off and burn away

I don’t want to be a Spanish mystic anymore

Under the tender, burning rain

I know the night would shine with light we couldn’t tame

But I don’t want to be a Spanish mystic, just the same

I just want the breath inside me hard and ragged

Want the breath inside me running wild

So spread a thousand graces on the evening water

Show yourself to me and to my eyes

I will be your witness, baby I will be your witness

I just want the breath inside me hard and ragged

Want the breath inside me running wild
